FeaturesSpecifications
  • Treadmill Footprint: 35.5” Wide x 81.4” Deep x 66.9” Tall
While it doesn’t qualify as a compact treadmill, the 1295i fits nicely in the corner of your home. It retains a small footprint and will fold up when not in use.
  • 3.5 CHP Mach Z™ Commercial Pro Motor
Most treadmills in this price range offer a 3.0HP motor, so the 3.5CHP motor in the 1295i is a nice upgrade. You get consistent power and a solid feel underfoot while running or walking. The motor gently lifts the deck and controls speed without any hiccups or pauses.
  • SpaceSaver® Design with EasyLift™ Assist
We love the SpaceSaver design! A hydraulic arm under the deck makes it easy to lift and lock into place when you are done with your workout. The folding feature makes this treadmill especially useful for those with limited space.
  • Weight Capacity 350 Lb.
Wow! 350 pounds is the highest weight capacity on any treadmill at this price point. The 1295i is sturdy with a steel frame and reinforced deck. Users of all sizes can enjoy the benefits of the 1295i.
  • 7” High-Contrast Display
This upgraded display features high-contrast numbers that are large and easy to see. You select any of the 34 preloaded workouts via the console. The bright readout displays metrics while you exercise.
  • Integrated Pivoting Tablet Holder
A secure tablet holder attached to the top of the console makes it easy to watch an iFit program. There is an adjustable clamp at the top to hold any size device securely. Bluetooth in the console syncs with your device to play your program volume through the speakers.
  • ProShox™ Cushioning
ProShox cushioning in the deck reduces joint impact significantly. It is so much better than running outside! You can run in the comfort of your home with added cushion underfoot to mitigate any joint discomfort.
  • Speed 0 – 12 MPH Digital QuickSpeed® Control
Digital buttons on the console control speed settings. You can instantly jump between any speed with the quick touch of a button. 12mph is standard on most treadmills and provides plenty of speed options for intervals, sprints, and power surges.
  • Incline 0 – 12% Digital Quick Decline™ & Incline™ Control
We love the incline on the 1295i! A brisk walk at a 10% incline burns some serious calories, so you can get a great workout and stay low-impact. The combination of multiple speed and incline settings also increases training variables, so you can mix up your routine for better overall conditioning.
  • iFIT Enabled, 30-day Membership Included*
iFit has over 16,000 workout options for walking, running, interval training, and even stretching and yoga off the treadmill. The trainers and classes are interesting and keep you engaged so the time goes by faster! You can join a studio class or select any outdoor run! There are lots of options in iFit.
  • 34 Onboard programs preloaded
For those who want to keep things simple, 34 onboard programs provide plenty of training options. You don’t need WiFi to run these, just plug in your treadmill and go! Options include fat burn, intervals, sprints, endurance programs and many others.

In-depth Review of the ProForm SMART Power 1295i Treadmill

Construction

Frame

The 1295i is sturdy and feels stable while you run. This is a solid machine for brisk walking or light jogging and the 3.5HP motor keeps it powered throughout your workout. Powder-coated uprights hold the console securely, so there’s no rocking or bouncing while running.

Deck

  • Cushioning/Feel
ProShox cushioning is ProForm’s standard cushion system in their SMART Power line. It provides needed cushioning without being overly soft. This isn’t the most cushioned deck, but it certainly offers benefits over running outside.
  • Length/Width
At 60” long by 20” wide, the 1295i gives you nice forward/aft and lateral room. You can squeeze out an extra 2” on the SMART Pro 2000 with 22” of lateral width, but it will cost you more. The 1295i is about the maximum deck you’ll find on a folding treadmill. With plenty of forward room under the console and good kick-back length, the 1295i should provide enough space for most users.
  • Belt and Rollers
Balanced rollers and a nice textured belt create a nice underfoot feel on the 1295i. The non-flex rollers hold the belt stable so it doesn’t roam or slap against the track with repeated use.

Motor

A 3.5 HP Mach Z motor is top of the line for this price range. This motor is rated for heavy use, so it should support extensive training. The motor manages speed and incline, so it works seamlessly to control the two without any hiccups or pauses in speed.

Console/Controls

Screen

The LCD screen displays large blue numbers that are easy to see against the black screen. You can select your program and see workout matrics from the screen. The screen is well-placed in the center of the console with control buttons just below.

Layout

Console layout is intuitive. An individual button for each speed and incline makes quick adjustments easy. You also have manual arrow buttons to increase or decrease by .5 as needed. The 1295i combines unique features in that the console itself is not iFit enabled, but there is a tablet holder so you can play any iFit program. Since the console doesn’t feature a full-color touchscreen, you miss a little functionality, but having the option of a large tablet to display iFit brings it right back up to speed. Bluetooth speakers will sync with your personal device to play music or a program through the treadmill speakers.

Fans/Other Accessories

There is a fan, which is a huge plus, and storage for either a water bottle or keys and a phone alongside the console. EKG grips on the front horizontal bar transmit heart rate data right to the screen to keep your metrics accurate. A tablet holder with adjustable clip is secured at the top of the console, so you can place nearly any size device here and the clip will hold it in place.

Storage

The 1295i folds up when not in use. A hydraulic system under the deck locks securely to keep it folded and out of the way.

Functionality

Performance

The 1295i is a hearty little machine. It doesn’t have a full color screen like the 400i, but it has a larger motor and more power. When combined with an iFit subscription via your personal tablet, you get more out of this machine than others in the same price range. iFit will sync with the 1295 via LIVE controls, so automated speed and incline control is available with this system. This means that as you participate in an iFit class or outdoor run, the speed and incline on the treadmill will automatically adjust to match the program. This allows you to run hands-free and just enjoy the program.

12% Incline

Again, you get a step up here with 12% incline that will augment conditioning with added variables and challenges. The 12% is steep enough to keep your core and glutes engaged so you can get that heart rate up, strengthen muscles, and still stay low-impact.

Pre-programmed workouts

34 Onboard workouts provide extensive training options that don’t require a subscription or WiFi. You can choose any number of options from calorie burn to hill work to interval training. You’ll be hard pressed to run out of options or get bored on the 1295i.

Subscription Options

iFit is available and syncs with your treadmill via LIVE controls so you get full automation and functionality on the 1295i through your personal device. iFit offers a multitude of class and outdoor options for running, training, walking or jogging, as well as strength training or yoga off the treadmill. It’s hard to get bored with all the options in iFit.

Noise Level

The 1295 is relatively quiet. There’s a bit of motor noise when the deck pivots up and down but this isn’t abundant or distracting.

Storage / Folding

The 1295i does fold up when not in use, which frees up floorspace and makes it much more user friendly for at-home use. A hydraulic system under the deck will lock in place to hold it folded securely so it doesn’t accidentally come unlatched.

Check Best Price

Bottom Line:

The ProForm SMART Power 1295i is only 35” wide and 81” long, so it will fit in most homes or apartments — and it folds up when not in use! ProForm keeps the 1295i very reasonably priced, and it still includes features usually found on more expensive treadmills! You get 12mph speed and 12% incline, with QuickTouch buttons on the console for each speed and incline level. Bluetooth speakers and fans in the console also make it easy to stay cool while you watch your device in the top-mounted tablet holder. You can’t go wrong with the 1295i, it is a great option for walking or jogging safely and comfortably indoors!
